There are alot of things that affect our skin on a day to day, month to month bases. These can be anything from external to internal factors. A busy lifestyle, Stress, fatigue, sun, smoking, alcohol, lack of sleep, poor diet, the type of work and the amount of exercise we do, can result in the skin looking lifeless, sallow with uneven dark patches, even premature aging. Smoking can decrease Vitamin C which is essential to elastin formation, it slows the rate of healing scars, breakouts and acne. We all know the damage we get from the sun increase the chance of skin cancers, wrinkles, thickening of the skin. Our diet plays a role in how we look and feel it’s not only what we eat but what is lacking in our diet that affect our health, water is vital to our health without it the skin will not function properly, we became dehydrated. Tea, coffee and alcohol also contribute to dehydrating the body.

Medication, Illness and Hormonal Imbalances

Medicated drugs, birth control pills, menopause, PMS, illness and medical condition can result in sensitivities, dehydration, pigmentation, weight gain, excessive hair growth and breakouts plus we all know about the mood swings.  It is important that you consult with your Doctor particularly if you are going to take any supplements, because they can affect some medications.
